Hello Hope Family,
I wanted to share a really neat story about one of our mission trip goers this summer.
Julian Rizzi is someone I have had the pleasure of being in church with for the last four years. He is 20 years old and served in Kenya, this summer, with our team!
Julian had been to Detroit with World Hope in 2013, which gave him an idea of what to expect on this trip to the Nairobi Hope Center. “Before going on this trip to Kenya, I already knew that World Hope was a great organization. They go right into the worst areas to try and build a bright spot from the inside and shine a light out,” he said.
At first, he was a little nervous to be out of the country, but as soon as he started interacting with the kids everything changed. “The reward of the experience is ridiculous,” he said. “It was one of the best weeks of my life. It’s completely different than what I thought.”
Julian named several different people from Nairobi who he got to know on this trip. He left some gifts for them and is planning to go back to see them next year. “The kids teach you a lot when you don’t expect that they will. They’re just so happy with nothing and they don’t ask you for anything. They just want to hear you and talk to you,” he said.
The group of young people we had on this year’s trip had so much fun serving and hanging out together. They are from all over the U.S. and can’t wait to be back in Kenya together next year.
I hope you will consider traveling with us next summer to one of our Hope Centers in Nairobi or Detroit!
Thank you for your continued prayers and support of World Hope.
