We have reached the time of the year that is said to be “The Most Wonderful.” Big decisions like where to put the tree, which weekend to hang the lights and whether or not to get new stockings, or just go with the ones that hold family memories, are being made right now. It’s hard to imagine anyone could dislike this time of the year.

The K-Love Hope Center sits in an area where many children don’t feel the excitement that comes with the holidays. There are no stockings to choose from, old or new. There are no lights to be hung and no trees to put in place. The wonder has been lost. However, we want to rekindle it!

Now, if I’ve learned anything about children, having 6 of my own, I know that they would replace the stockings, the lights and even the tree for the things that go underneath that tree! Thanks to the outpouring of love and support from so many people, a 26ft truck full of gifts has been delivered. These gifts will benefit families who otherwise wouldn’t join in on celebrating this wonderful time of year. The gifts have now been sorted and prepared to give out. That single truck has also helped to spark a desire in several area churches to join in on the giving! The response has been nothing short of amazing.

Thanks to a few people whose goal is not to fulfill their need to help people but to actually help people…Hope, Revival and now wonder is making it’s way back to some special children in Detroit. That only leaves me full of wonder as to what God is going to do collectively through all of us next!

Wonder-a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable.
