We have just returned from another great week at sea with our friends at K-Love radio. This was K-Love’s 10th year of doing their Friends and Family Cruise and World Hope’s third year of sponsoring the trip. In addition to some of the best Christian artists on the planet, there were wonderful devotions every morning and a great time of worship on Sunday. Over 2,600 passengers were aboard from all over the United States, traveling from as far away as Alaska to the Port of Miami to catch the ship. With concerts every night and great ports of call like Key West and Cozumel, it is an incredible family vacation.
In the previous two years that we have sponsored the cruise, we have raised over $80,000 for our Hope Center in Kenya. This year, the focus was the opening of our new Hope Center in Detroit. Those on board were able to hear every night, not only of the crisis facing the city of Detroit, but also of the Hope that awaits them, found in the person of Jesus Christ.
By the time the cruise was over, we had raised over $68,000 to help purchase the property for the new Hope Center. In addition, we talked to scores of people who were eager to sign up to be part of a mission trip to help us build and renovate, and do “hands on” ministry. There were several pastors aboard as well who want to take groups to Detroit, and help us bring Hope to the hurting.
We thank God for partners like you and great organizations like K-Love radio who help make our entire ministry possible. K-Love broadcasts to millions of listeners each week throughout the country, so if you live in a city where K-Love is on the air you will be hearing about us throughout the month of February. You can check us out too on their website, KLove.com or on our new website focusing on Detroit, RevivalOfDetroit.com.
