Thanksgiving is a time for family and gratitude, but it is also a much celebrated time of gathering around the dinner table for a feast to feed the soul and the stomach. However, many families in Detroit go to bed each night without a simple dinner; there is just no way they could provide a Thanksgiving feast for their families. This year, however, World Hope sent a small team to accomplish a mighty task and bring not only food but also the Hope and love of Christ to Detroit.

In near freezing temperatures, our team from Orlando, along with our partners in ministry in Detroit at The City Church and some musicians from Christian worship band The Derek Janney Band (DJB), handed out over 100 boxes of Thanksgiving feasts with all the trimmings and a turkey to boot. The funds were raised through a partnership with DJB and North Park Baptist Church in Texas. Families were treated to a box of food, a Bible, a worship album and some prayer. It just one of the great ways we are bringing mobile ministry to Detroit until the Lord provides us a permanent Hope Center.
