World Hope is so proud and excited to announce our newest partnership! Calling it a new partnership isn’t exactly correct, as Orlando Christian Prep has partnered with World Hope for year as a sister school to Hope Academy in Nairobi Kenya. Starting with raising money for chairs all the way through a faculty lead trip to visit the school in 2011. However we are partnering in a very new and exciting way. Orlando Christina Prep is the first school to partner with us in our Teacher’s Sponsorship Program. OCP has come along side Hope Academy to sponsor the salary of not one but two Hope Academy teachers or staff. Beginning this year they will be the sponsors for Boniface Mutembei, Head Master, and Stella Malonza, a teacher in Standard 8.
Boniface just began his 9th year with Hope Academy. Enrollment was very low when Boniface joined in 2004 however due to his tireless efforts, in just a few short years attendance was at capacity and we have seen growth every year since. Boniface was key in registering World Hope Academy with the Kenyan government helping to obtain all certifications and requirements. Boniface is also a member of Hope Church; he gave his life to the Lord 24 years ago. In recent years Boniface lost his wife to illness, however he raises his two girls alone both attending Hope Church with him.
Stella joined Hope Academy 6 years ago in 2007 after attending teachers college and attaining her Professional Teaching License. She gave her life to the Lord 13 years ago and is married with two children, the youngest born just months ago. Outside of the classroom Stella handles one of the core clubs in Hope Academy, the Christian Union, which caters to the spiritual needs of students and staff alike. Many children have accepted Chris as their personal savior because of Stella. She also teaches English, Social Studies, Bible and Mathematics to the Standard 8 students.
We are overjoyed with this new partnership and cannot wait to see the blessings pour out to Orlando Christian Prep this year as they took a step out in faith in partnering with Hope Academy.
