World Hope Academy and World Hope Senior School have embarked on a serious campaign to become more and more creative in helping students learn the most possible in their time with us. One example of this is the recent “Mathematics Day” at the academy and “English Day” at the senior school. Both days were aimed at popularizing the subjects and encouraging learners to gain a positive attitude towards them.
“Mathematics Day” was a day of students celebrating math, and working on various puzzles and problems presented to them. The highest achievers were rewarded for their efforts. Thanks to the project ‘I LOVE MATHEMATICS” that was launched last term we are already seeing higher achievement scores on the exams. This is a difficult undertaking in Kenya and can be attributed to hard working teachers and countless hours put in.
“English Day” saw students from the senior school showcase their skills in public speaking, debate, narration, writing and reading. All this was aimed at encouraging our students to build up a culture where they learn to appreciate the English language and it’s value to their education. High achievers were rewarded and recommendations were made on areas to improve Students are encouraged to converse in English most of the time as this helps them sharpen their skill and understanding of the language.
Overall the two days aimed at boosting morale and enjoyment for learning was a huge success. The students enjoyed a wonderful day and their exam scores reflect the extra effort being put in by World Hope teachers and administration.
