We at World Hope couldn’t wrap up 2013 without highlighting the results from our recent candidate class who sat for their final primary school exam just a few months ago. We are grateful to God for His continued blessing on these students and this school and the continued success each year.

This year’s candidate class was such a blessing to Hope Academy as well. Looking back from where they started, they have made their teachers proud and their efforts worthwhile. The school managed to get an average of 272.68 marks (above average). In general this class started from a very low point and simply reaching an above average score is worth applauding them.

Our Top student managed to get an A- of 383 marks. 15 students from the 31 students who sat for the exam managed to score 300 marks and above out of the possible 500 marks which represented 48.39% of the total. 7 students managed to score 250 marks and above out of the possible 500, which represented 22.58% and 9 students hit below average making that 29.03% of the total. In summary 71% of our total candidate class managed to get above 250 marks out of the possible 500 and this indeed is a great stride for us as a school and we are confident that the same students shall be able to transit straight into our senior school come January 2014.

We are really proud of what our 2013 candidates have achieved and very grateful for our sponsors and donors who have made it possible for most of them to stay in school throughout the year.

One of the success stories we can highlight is Harrison Martin. Harrison was one of the boys rescued from the slums after World Hope held a medical clinic in 2010. One of our travelers David met with Harrison who at the time was suffering from acute Eczema. David took care of his medical expenses and secured a spot for him at World Hope so as to ensure he monitored his progress. Over the years he has continually supported Harrison and he managed to score 306 marks out of the possible 500, a B – minus. This ranked Harrison as 11th in his class! It is such simple acts of love that has seen young kids like Harrison pass through the system and each day are assured of a brighter future. We can’t fail to appreciate the support of our partners like Vapor, Zion Church, One Child Matters and many other private sponsors locally and overseas, it’s all through your combined efforts that these young kids have crossed the bridge from primary now headed to a more exciting level in high school.

We appreciate all your support as we all join hands to say CONGRATULATIONS to the 2013 candidate class and bravo to all their teachers and support staff for making it all possible for them through God’s mercies.
