Dr. Dave Janney Visits the Phillipines

World Hope welcomes our president and leader, Dr. Dave Janney home from his recent trip to Manila, Philippines. He was the keynote speaker at a pastor’s conference, speaking to pastors who started churches as a result of the “Jesus Saves” crusades, and several of whom had devastating losses of their churches from the great floods that swept through the Philippines in 2009. Dr. Dave brought some invigorating messages and challenged the pastors to move forward this year. He also spoke in Dr. Abante’s church, our World Hope Asia country director, and 142 people got saved!

New Year Celebration at Hope Center, Kenya

It’s already been 2 weeks since a group of twenty-five welcomed the New Year at Hope Center in Kenya. The final trip of the year was an incredible, impactful and successful one. A 4-day medical clinic was conducted in which over 600 patients were assessed and treated. Most importantly, 50 lives were led to the Lord! It was great to have three US doctors join us in the clinic and have everyone participate by loving on the children, helping in the pharmacy that was set up, handing out dozens of hygiene kits, and more. We also had the current Ms. Oregon, “CC” Barber, in addition to Mr. Ron Oats, of the Boy Scouts of America, join us on our trip. CC will be competing

for the Miss America title at the end of the month. She has made World Hope one of her platforms and recently spoke about us in an interview that aired on Better Portland (Click here to see the interview), a Fox News affiliate station. Also, Lisa Cooper, a member of the World Hope team, spoke about World Hope for our first time ever on US radio on “Women in Christ” with Brenda Kelley, on January 19th.

Moreover, Hope Academy faced a serious matter this month. The wall that encloses the school will be taken down due to government construction on land that part of the wall sits on. With this, the kitchen and the only toilet block on campus will be taken down. Everyone on the recent trip to Hope Center in Kenya pulled together to meet the need of a temporary toilet block which left the rebuilding of the kitchen to be the next urgent issue. With just three days to gather

the astounding $7,500 that was needed, an email and challenge was sent out to the World Hope database asking for our partners to help “Save Hope Academy!” Through the generous contributions of our partners the goal was met and even surpassed the asked amount. The 395 students at Hope Academy do not have to worry about their school being closed!

6th Annual Celebration Dinner & New Campaign

At our headquarters here in Orlando, the World Hope team has been working very hard. On January 29th, World Hope will be launching a brand new campaign, the “2500 Strong Campaign”. As part of this campaign, we will be seeking 2,500 faithful partners to come on board with us at $10 a month. What is giving up 2 coffees a week, or a fast food meal in comparison to a $10 blessing to a life in Kenya? We ask that you keep this campaign in prayer, that the Lord may impress the message of hope on other’s lives and that they may partner with us.

In conjunction, the annual World Hope Celebration banquet will be on the night of January 29th. It will be a wonderful time of reflection on the last decade of World Hope’s history, as well as a look towards the future for what is to come. The new “2500 Strong Campaign” will be formally unveiled and launched, and the banquet attendees will have the opportunity to be a part of the initial “Strong” group that partners in the campaign. If you have not yet RSVP’d, please do so. Send your confirmation, including the number of people in your party, to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Embracing Prayer

Lastly and most importantly, World Hope has embraced the theme of prayer in beginning the year. We ask the Lord to bestow upon Dr. David Janney, wisdom, fresh and renewed vision, health, leadership, and protection. We are praying for needed money to fund the monthly deficit and financial commitments of World Hope. Also, for the 2500 Strong Campaign to have a successful launch in 2 weeks that it will be ushered in with the partnering of committed people to help continue to “push back the slum.” We also pray over our Hope Centers in Nicaragua and the Philippines, as well as the Hope team here in Orlando. As you consecrate your time of prayer, please remember World Hope and all that has been mentioned- we believe and trust the Lord for an outstanding year!
