On July 11, 22-year old CC Barber of Scappoose, Oregon, was chosen over 23 other contestants and crowned Miss Oregon at the Miss Oregon Scholarship Pageant in Seaside. Barber graduated from Scappoose High School as a varsity athlete with an honors diploma in 2005. She is currently enrolled at Samuel Merritt University and has one semester left before completing her bachelor's degree in nursing. She is using the scholarship money she earned from the Miss America Oregon Program to finish her degree. She will be competing in the Miss America Pageant next January in Las Vegas.
After learning about the vision of World Hope, CC has partnered with us to help spread awareness and raise support. CC will be presenting World Hope from her promotional platform as she speaks to different groups, schools, and organizations about the issues at hand. She is very excited to be a part of World Hope and has just confirmed that she will be attending our next trip to Kenya in late December. World Hope is delighted to have CC as a partner as we continue to bring hope to the hopeless to those less fortunate around the world. We are very grateful for CC and we wish her the best for the upcoming pageant in January.
